10 – 30 min timer on these moves for your kick start!

The most common excuses at the moment:

  1. I have too much work to do.
  2. 2. I’m too tired.
  3. 3. My_____ needs me.

A lifelong mover, I find it a blessing to crave technical training, but even professionals who have to create their own structure struggle to carve out the time sometimes.

It’s all a matter of educating the voices in your head and then listening to the right ones.

Try shifting the thought process to:

  1. 1. I will be more efficient at my work after I exercise and get more accomplished in the hours after a workout than in an entire day without one.
  2. 2. I will feel more energized after I move, and I have never regretted a workout.
  3. 3. I will show up better for my family, friends, and work if I take 30-60 min for myself and get my blood, endorphins, and serotonin flowing.

Sometimes the hardest part is just getting started. Pulling yourself out of the desk, chair, or whatever position you are stuck in.  Sometimes it’s pausing from running around, overbooked.

This mini warmup is a great way to ground yourself and get into your body. Create a better baseline and take your well-tuned machine for a ride.

This short routine is a good kick start to your workout, class, or lesson. It is a great tech break during a workday. In repetition or with added weights, it can be the workout in itself. Repeat the first 5 mins a couple of times through and be comfortable with it until you feel like it’s your own. Then add on the next 5 mins and the next. If there are moves that don’t feel great, send me a note, and I’ll help you clarify or modify to suit your body’s strength and range of motion.

As always, I recommend having a personal routine that you can do anywhere, but can’t stress enough how important it is for us ALL to be students and enlist a coach to help from time to time.

At our studio, we have new group or private lessons with a BASI Pilates teacher in training for a nominal cost.

As always, we offer small group reformer classes and private lessons.

Check in from time to time at your local studio and voice your desire to create high-quality movements to find the athlete in you. We are blessed to move, so honor your body and respect where you are at, but give yourself the push you need more often than the grace to sit it out.
